On this occasion:
It is completely normal for the felt wheel to become more or less dusty during the first few uses.
This is due to the residue that remains in the felt wheel after round grinding.
How long this is the case depends on the area of application.
Sometimes it is gone after a few sanding processes, sometimes it takes a little longer.
This does not constitute a material defect but is normal.
Get the bread knife devilishly sharp again.
Always a problem.
It’s very easy with this felt wheel.
Simply grind the smooth back of the knife as flat as possible until there is a burr in the waves on the front. The best way to check this is with a cotton swab.
Then use the flattened disc to polish out the burr on every single shaft.
The best way to do this is to embed the felt disc with 1 micron diamond spray.
When you have finished, simply use the cotton swab to check again whether the burr has been removed.
If this is the case ……… then please CAUTION ……. you have a devilishly sharp bread knife again.
You need 2 spacers for this or you can get suitable washers.
We recommend 1x spacer 35x12mm and 1x spacer 35x6mm for perfect mounting
