finally it is here…….
the bracket with which you can always clamp your knife in the middle.
Gone are the times when you mill material out of the Tormek clamp or ventilate plates lined to clamp the knife centered.
Here with this bracket this is no longer necessary.
The knife is automatically clamped in the middle by the fact that when the clamp is closed the jaws move towards each other.
The glued-in rubber is just my first suggestion.
The knife is held well.
However, I am open to any suggestion of improvement.
I will also work with various rubber compounds and adhesive techniques to find the optimum.
ATTENTION: due to its design, this clamp is not suitable for knives that do not have at least a blade width of 25mm. For shorter knives such as pocket knives, fillet knives and the like, the clamp is set on the stone at a flat angle. Tests with 1.5 mm thick rubber enabled an angle of max 17 degrees to be achieved on a fillet knife that still protrudes 15mm from the clamp. “Normal” Knives, on the other hand, do not pose any problems.
